22 April 2010 14:00

Telenor Objects’s latest addition – called Shepherd® Partner Network – has been created to drive service innovation within the market for M2M communication. The Network, which had its first gathering at Fornebu in Norway the 22nd of April, has already attracted a number of partners with previous experience from the M2M market in Scandinavia.

The recently started network consists of over twenty companies from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The network will run innovation- and development activities around Telenor Objects' Shepherd Platform, an open and future proof architecture which allows customers to freely choose the most suitable combination of devices and applications.

- Shepherd Partner Network supports Telenor Objects' vision, which is allowing any device to connect to any application, says Thor Steffensen, Vice President Sales and Marketing in Telenor Objects.

Telenor Objects believes there in time will be a shift from vertically integrated closed solutions to a more open and layered architecture for M2M. This trend, which is approaching the much referred to "Internet of Things", will lead to a flourishing of new applications that may be able to use already existing devices and infrastructure.
