The recently started network consists of over twenty companies
from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The network will run innovation-
and development activities around Telenor Objects' Shepherd
Platform, an open and future proof architecture which allows
customers to freely choose the most suitable combination of devices
and applications.

Telenor Objects believes there in time will be a shift from
vertically integrated closed solutions to a more open and layered
architecture for M2M. This trend, which is approaching the much
referred to "Internet of Things", will lead to a flourishing of new
applications that may be able to use already existing devices and
infrastructure.
